Welcome to Mech Makers!

We are a community of imaginative ‘80s and ‘90s kids here to help you embrace your geeky nostalgia and learn about the tech behind the stories you love, so that you can build cool robots too.

The ultimate purpose of our time together is to help you build a mech. So what is a “mech”? Synonymous words and phrases are Mecha, Exoskeleton, Power Armor, and wearable robot. Think Robocop, Iron Man, MechWarrior, and most of the Terran units in StarCraft! It’s a giant suit of robot armor that you can walk around in and look badass doing it.

Mech Makers is a content hub and community focused on discovering, learning, and using all of the skills necessary to design, fabricate, and assemble a mech. Come as you are with audacious ideas (outsiders may call them crazy) and a positive & helpful attitude. ALL skill levels are welcome, even if you haven’t yet made an LED blink, or a script output "Hello world!". If you think it would be sweet to stomp around in a powered metal suit of armor, and you aren't in the business of crushing other people’s dreams, we would love for you to come hang out!
